Avenue Q
@WMC, Cardiff Bay
After nearly five years of mischief, bad behaviour and political incorrectness, London's funniest show by far is hitting the road. The Tony Award-winning Avenue Q is the irresistibly charming musical about the lovably hopeless characters on a downtown New York street trying to make sense of life's burning issues: love, work, relationships and, above all, just how are you supposed to pay the bills with a BA in English?
Hilarious and uproariously entertaining, with a terrific batch of songs performed by a cast of hugely talented performers and puppets, Avenue Q is the musical like no other. So don't let your life suck - book your tickets today.

"Queen of Denmark is all about the 41-year-old Grant finally coming to terms with who he is. It's also the word-of-mouth hit of 2010, the ecstatic reviews that greeted its gentle soft rock melodies and grimly sardonic lyrics followed by a nomination for best breakthrough act at the Mojo awards earlier this month." Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker!
@WMC, Cardiff Bay
Matthew Bourne's unique productions have opened up dance to a much wider audience with its accessible staging and vivid storytelling.
His version of Nutcracker! created in the early '90s excited both the more traditional older ballet audiences (and their grandchildren) as well as attracting a new contemporary audience with its fresh and current relevance.
The fact that the production is still touring to huge acclaim is testament to its universal appeal. And following the huge success of its first visit to the Centre in 2008 and of his other works (Edward Scissorhands, Car Man and last year's Swan Lake), now the 20th Anniversary production of Nutcracker! returns to the Centre, ready to see in the Christmas season in Cardiff.
If the main reason for Matthew Bourne's stellar success is his effortless ability to tell a story through his artform, dance and choreography - it seems obvious that some of his greatest successes have been achieved in interpretations of work of that other great musical storyteller, Tchaikovsky, this time following Clara's bittersweet journey from a hilariously bleak night at Dr. Dross' Orphanage for waifs and strays, through a shimmering, ice-skating, winter wonderland to the scrumptious candy kingdom of Sweetieland.
Nutcracker! uses Tchaikovsky's glorious score, combining it with Technicolor sets and costumes and the sizzling choreography to tell a story crammed full of Bourne's trademark wit, pathos and magical fantasy, to appeal in different ways to each and every member of the family.

Earthfall: At Swim Two Boys
@WMC, Cardiff Bay
Earthfall returns to the Centre with a revival of its award-winning production. Set in Ireland in 1916, the work depicts the developing love affair between two young men against the political turmoil in Ireland and the slaughter on the Western Front - contrasting the dream of national liberation and the search for personal freedom. The production is staged in a slowly filling lake in front of a waterfall and performed by two physical performers and two musicians. Inspired by Jamie O'Neill's award winning novel of the same name, At Swim Two Boys is an evocative love story that leaves its audience with an almost tangible emotional charge running through it.
